UK Status
Resident. Widespread and as far as East Lothian in Scotland, more common in south-east England.
Montgomeryshire Status
First recorded in 2010 at Llanfyllin in the north of the county. This was only the eight record for north Wales.

C. viscariella, C. marmorea.

Habitat
Dry grasslands, heaths, damp areas.
Foodplant
Bog stitchwort, lesser stitchwort, field mouse-ear and common mouse-ear.
Lifestage data
Shoot miner. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva bores into a young shoot
which forms into a gall like structure. Pupates in slight cocoon
amongst detritus on the ground. |
